City Nature Challenge – SWNP’s Challenge

April 27, 2019 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Southwest Nature Preserve
5201 Bowman Springs Rd
Kennedale, TX 76060

What is City Nature Challenge?
Hosted by iNaturalist, the City Nature Challenge is 4-day international effort, April 26-29, for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities across the globe. Cities compete to see who can make the most observations, find the most species, and engage the most people.

Why document our natural world?
Knowing what species are in our city and where they are helps us study and protect them.

Activities at Southwest Nature Preserve
You are invited to join other naturalists at the preserve Saturday, April 27. Volunteers will offer tours and help you navigate the iNaturalist app. All ages can contribute by posting photos of plants, animals, insects or any other evidence of life. Just bring your cameras and smartphones – and a keen eye – to document nature. We will provide water.

Starting from the parking lot, we’ll try to see how much nature we can find at the Preserve:
– 2:30 – Trail Walk
– 3:00 – Fishing pier and riparian area
– 4:00 – Pollinator Meadow
